the energy companies obligation
What’s it all about?
THE ENERGY COMPANIES OBLIGATION (EC0)
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a UK Government energy efficiency scheme to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.
This means the energy companies are obliged to fund energy efficiency measures which can be obtained under two grant schemes – ECO4, and ECO Flex. These grants can pay for both central heating and insulation.
There are two intentions associated with the modern ECO scheme:
To address fuel poverty by lowing the costs of energy consumption.
To minimise carbon emissions in the years to come.
The two main focuses for the ECO scheme benefit you directly in the form of reduced heating and electricity bills. The scheme covers a range of services from ‘loft or room in roof insulation’, all the way up to ‘cavity wall insulation’, as well as other heating measures.
how do you qualify for free funding?
ECO3 funding may be available to anyone at a particular level of income and who is in receipt of certain benefits (detailed).
This funding allows many on a low income to cut their heating costs by enabling us to complete the work required with no cost to yourself!
