ROOM IN ROOF INSULATION
WARM IN WINTER, COOL IN SUMMER, SAVES NEARLY £250 ANNUALLY ON BILLs
What is room in roof insulation?
Uninsulated homes are highly susceptible to temperature changes in the summer and winter months, this can increase your energy bills drastically. If your home suffers from rapid heat loss, despite having a good heating system, this means your home can still be susceptible to the cold. Room in roof insulation could help stop this heat loss, which is why it is such a cost effective solution.
Room in roof insulation is the process of installing insulation boarding in between the rafters, underneath existing plasterboard walls in order to help keep the heat inside, creating a ‘blanket’ type effect. This is a heat retention method, it prevents additional heat from escaping through your roof space. Under the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO Scheme) we can offer free insulation for homes that are eligible. The Eco Scheme is a government incentive that helps people lower their home heating costs through energy efficiency measures. To find out how to qualify, please visit our funding page.
what’s the process?
Stud walls are fitted into the space, and similar over-boarding to the top of the roof, with specialised material fitted in between and around the joists to reduce the amount of heat and energy escaping your property. Depending on the space, electronics may need to be moved and replaced possibly in a different position. In the event that this is necessary, which would be identified at survey, one of our dedicated electricians will attend the property as well as the installers. While it can vary depending on the size of the property, on average the process takes 2-3 days to complete.
